Which work is being done in the parking lot?

Work is underway to upgrade the multi-level parking lot at the corner of Montclair Boulevard and De la Carrière Boulevard. The space will become a single-level, ground-level parking lot.

How long will the work take?

Work on the parking lot will begin in February and will last approximately four months. You can check the progress of the project by clicking here

Why do you need to upgrade the Galeries de Hull parking lot?

The well-being of our retailers and customers is always a top priority. As the parking lot nears the end of its lifespan, upgrade work has become necessary. The Galeries de Hull management team has chosen to be proactive and to begin parking lot renovations in the winter of 2023.

Which entrances are accessible?

Entrance #1 (from St. Joseph Street), entrance #3 (near the Bank of Montreal), entrance #4 (near Marché Wakim) and entrance #8 (near Dollarama) will remain accessible at all times during construction. It should be noted that for an undetermined period of time, entrance #6 (near Éconofitness) is closed to vehicles, but it is accessible again to pedestrians. As well, entrances #2 (Scotiabank) and #7 (Accessibility Standards Canada) remain closed.

Will some entrances remain closed after the work is completed?

We want to provide you with easy access to the shopping centre at all times. As such, most entrances will be open after the work is completed. Entrances #2 (near Scotiabank) and #7 (near Accessibility Standards Canada) will remain closed after the work is complete, while entrance #5 (near Le Figaro) will be accessible again.

Are any retailers closed or relocated in the centre during construction?

The construction work will be done primarily outside the shopping centre and will not require any retailer closures or relocations. Scotiabank ATMs and the night deposit box are now accessible to the left of entrance #1.

Where can we park during the construction period?

At this stage of the construction project, access to the parking lot is now possible through St-Joseph Boulevard, De la Carrière Boulevard, and Montclair Boulevard. The only section of the parking lot that remains closed at this stage is located in front of entrance #6.

How do you make sure that the parking lot is restricted to Galeries de Hull customers?

The parking lot is monitored by security guards during the entire construction period. They ensure that the parking lot is used by Galeries de Hull customers.

If all parking spaces are taken, where else can we park?

Parking is available on the streetssurrounding the shopping centre (Carron, Fortier, Bourque, Sainte-Marie, Fontaine, Berry).

How can customers access Éconofitness?

Éconofitness remains open 24/7 throughout the construction work. Gym members are encouraged to park near entrance #5, which is now accessible through De la Carrière Boulevard or Montclair Boulevard. Outside of opening hours, they can take the pedestrian walkway outside the shopping centre to go from entrance #5 to entrance #6.

Are electric charging stations still available?

The electric vehicle charging stations have been temporarily removed, but will be reinstalled once the work is completed. Until then, you can find the nearest charging stations by clicking here

How do you plan to secure pedestrian access to the Galeries de Hull during construction?

Pedestrian signage is available around the Galeries de Hull to guide pedestrians to the nearest accessible entrance to the shopping centre.

Is it easy to access the Galeries de Hull for people with limited mobility during the construction period?

Specialized transit continues to go to entrance #3 via St. Joseph Boulevard. We recommend that our customers with reduced mobility access the centre through entrance #1, then use the elevator on level 2 (near the information booth) to go to level 1.

Since some entrances are closed, how do you redirect customers inside the shopping centre?

At all times, digital terminals displaying the Galeries de Hull map are available at each entrance of the shopping centre. Interior signage has also been installed to redirect you to the appropriate retailers. You may also ask the customer service staff located at entrance #1, level 2, during the shopping centre's opening hours for information.
